Artist's Description

Artwork by Oregon photographer, Jason McPheeters - During the afternoons, the sun lights up the bright red, gold and yellow layers in this part of the John Day Fossil Beds National Monument. The fascinating geologic area is protected by the National Park Service and is a stunning visit to this remote part of Central / Eastern Oregon. The colorful and textural Painted Hills are considered one of The Seven Wonders of Oregon. The layers are exposed from erosion, slowly showing us the history of this area, from back when it was a lush jungle with sabre-tooth tigers roaming around.

Available in fine art prints and other home decor to refresh your space. Purchase beautiful and unique gifts like canvas bags, journals, puzzles, greeting cards and more.
