My girlfriend and I watched this stellar view unfold as the sun was setting along the Southern Oregon Coast. When we first got there, another photographer was walking around taking pictures as well. It wasn't looking like the sunset was going to be that spectacular, so the other photographer opened his car door to leave but paused for a few moments. He noticed I had my tripod out so he shut the car door, took his tripod out of the trunk, and set up. In a matter of minutes, the clouds started turning shades of pink, then exploded with color all around us. I have no doubt he didn't regret sticking around! It's why they say never turn your back on the ocean, that is to avoid missing these moments (and avoid getting caught by a sneaker wave).
